Termites: Beyond the Basics

Participants will go beyond the basics and explore what termites do in their daily life, how they communicate, do they get sick like we do? how do they survive? what happens when they die? because the answers to these questions will give you the answers on how to develop an effective treatment protocol.  The lecture and laboratory practice emphasize classification, identification, social systems, and the diverse roles termites play in ecosystems.  The hands-on section will expose participants to different treatment methods, equipment and proper PPE.  The course will also cover principles of integrated pest management and its components, including effective customer education and communication.
