Awards Committee
We want to recognize the great work that our hardworking technicians do every year. So each year NCPMA presents two awards to outstanding pest management professionals who are recognized as some of the best in their field.
The two Technician of the Year awards are given each year to technicians in the pest management phase and wood destroying insects phase.
Technicians of the Year are chosen based on the applicant's leadership among peers, excellent customer relations, knowledge of his/her job, superior job performance and the ability to successfully handle problems on the job. All applicants must be members of NCPMA, have at least two years of experience in either the pest management or wood-destroying insect phase and must be nominated by a person in a leadership role in his or her company.
The Technician of the Year Committee oversees the nomination and selection process for these awards. Join the committee now to be part of the team who recognizes these outstanding professionals.
Education Committee
Each year hundreds of pest management technicians gather for the Pest Control Technician’s School for classes and continuing education. Our PCT Education Committee plans the classes and sessions for that event.
Working in partnership with the PCT School Committee, the PCT Education Committee selects the speakers and topics for the annual NCPMA PCT School. Thanks to this committee, PCT School attendees attend classes featuring topics and speakers that are relevant, interesting and educational.
To ensure that the topics are timely and current, a diverse group of professionals from all corners of the pest management industry make up this committee. The committee is comprised of representatives from the N.C. State University Department of Entomology, North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, chemical manufacturers and pest management companies.

Endowment Committee
The Endowment committee of NCPMA works closely with NC State University to support the NCSU’s Entomology department and specifically the NCPMA Extension Program Endowment in Honor of Dr. Mike Waldvogel. This endowment supports urban entomology pest management extension and research at NC State University, focusing on supporting positions that directly contribute to the continued education of the pest control industry in North Carolina.
The committee will lead efforts to liaise with NCSU and communicate to NCPMA, the activities and needs of the endowment. The committee will also champion fundraising efforts to achieve NCPMA’s original goal of $400,000 by 2024.
Exhibitors and Sponsors Committee
If you like working with people, this is the committee for you! The Exhibitors and Sponsors Committee manages communication with the exhibitors and sponsors of all of NCPMA’s events to ensure that the relationships are successful ones. The Committee serves as the communications vehicle between allied members, sponsors and the NCPMA Board.
The Exhibitors and Sponsors Committee manages communications and relationships with exhibitors, sponsors and allied members of NCPMA and coordinates their activities at major events such as the PCT School and the Carolinas/Mid-Atlantic Summer Meeting.
Working closely with the PCT School Planning Committee and Carolinas Mid-Atlantic Summer Meeting Committee, the group secures vendors for sponsorships and booth registrations and assists in generating support for the PCT School Casino Night.
Financial Advisory Committee
The Financial Advisory Committee ensures that NCPMA’s finances are in order. It is responsible for oversight and management of NCPMA’s assets and financial activities including the annual budget, audit and financial records. The Financial Advisory Committee advises the board on the preparation of the association’s annual budget, inspects and audits the association’s financial records, advises the board of directors on current and future finances, and manages cash reserves and invests monies as necessary.
The Committee is comprised of the current board Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, and three past NCPMA presidents as appointed by the current association President.
Membership Committee
NCPMA’s members are the heart of our organization! And, we are always seeking to add new members to our association.
The Membership Committee is responsible for recruiting new members to our organization and reviewing all incoming membership applications. Working closely with the NCPMA Secretary/Treasurer, the Committee receives, reviews and investigates all membership applications and presents those applicants to the Board of Directors for approval.

PCT School Committee
Not only is the PCT School one of NCPMA’s oldest events, it’s also the largest for the state and one of the biggest of its kind in the country! And, we are always looking for people to help plan it.

The PCT School Committee oversees the planning and execution of the annual NCPMA Pest Control Technician’s (PCT) School. For nearly 70 years, the PCT School has served as North Carolina’s largest gathering for pest management training and attracts hundreds of pest management professionals each year.
The committee works closely with the board of directors, exhibitor and vendors, other committees and our hotel partner to ensure that each PCT School is a valuable experience for our members.
Premier Technician Committee
The NCPMA Premier Technician Program is designed for technicians who want to take their career to the next level, and the Premier Technician committee makes that happen. The committee plans and coordinates each of the program's courses and works closely with instructors to develop an in-depth and challenging curriculum for participants.
The NCPMA Premier Technician Program is designed for pest management professionals who are committed to the field and who strive to be experts in the industry. The Premier Technician program offers a continuous series of courses that will elevate your understanding of pest infestations from discovery to treatment. The Premier Technician designation will be awarded to industry professionals who complete eight or more Premier Technician courses.
Professional Women in Pest Management Committee
The mission of NC PWIPM is to empower women in the pest management industry through recruitment, education, mentoring and professional development.
The NC PWIPM Chapter sponsors the Administrative Professional of the Year Award.

Public Policy Committee
Are you interested in the laws and policies that shape our industry?
Working closely with the association’s lobbyist, the Public Policy Committee stays current on law changes that affect pest management businesses from the General Assembly and shares that information with the NCPMA membership. It also stays in contact with and works with the Structural Pest Control Committee and the NC Structural Pest Control and Pesticides Division about rule and regulation changes.

These are all ways that the Public Relations Committee stays in contact with NCPMA members and the general public about association events and news. The Public Relations Committee serves as the hub for NCPMA’s communications. It works to educate the public and members about news from NCPMA including events and pest management updates.

Summer Conference Committee
The Summer Conference is one of NCPMA’s largest annual events and our only event that brings together pest professionals from NC and also other states.
The Summer Conference Committee works closely with the National Pest Management Association, the South Carolina Pest Control Association and the Virginia Pest Management Association to plan the event.
This unique event offers educational opportunities for attendees as well as fun, networking events.

United We Stand Committee
United We Stand, Together We Grow is NCPMA’s leadership conference. Held in Greensboro, the event offers three days of intensive, hands-on leadership courses designed to help pest management business owners, executives and managers develop and grow their businesses while networking with their industry peers. The Committee oversees and plans the event.
WDIR Committee
The WDIR Committee oversees the Wood-Destroying Insect Report (WDIR) Accreditation Program which is the only program of its kind in the state.
The WDIR Accreditation program trains and educates pest management technicians to identify wood-destroying insect infestations and damage through accreditation classes offered at NCPMA events. Accredited inspectors must adhere to a Code of Ethics and are issued a special stamp for use on completed WDIR forms.

Wildlife Committee
One of NCPMA's newest committees, the Wildlife Committee will work to identify wildlife issues in North Carolina and help wildlife management professionals statewide.
