Guest Post by Clint Miller, 2019-2020 NCPMA President

Today we started a new year for the North Carolina Pest Management Association (NCPMA).

The new Board of Directors has already been working hard to make this one of the best years yet for NCPMA. Here are a few of the things we have planned for the coming year.

  • Premier Technician Program: For years we have honored the best of the pest management industry through our awards programs and have offered the latest in pest management training programs. And, we want to continue to recognize the best in our industry. We will be launching a Premier Technician Training Program soon. This program is designed for technicians who are committed to the field and who strive to be experts in the industry. This hands-on, training course will allow technicians to elevate their understanding of pest infestations from discovery to treatment. More information is coming soon, so stay tuned!
  • Registered Technician Training: Our Board of Directors is working now to redesign and update the Registered Technician training. This program will be updated with the latest information for today’s technicians.
  • NCSU Endowment Renewal: We are working closely with North Carolina State University to renew the NCPMA Endowment with the Department of Entomology and Pathology. We have had a close partnership with the department for years through the PCT School and NCPMA Education Foundation Scholarship and look forward to continuing our support of the department for years to come.
  • PCT School: And, of course, we have the Pest Control Technician’s (PCT) School coming in January 2020. This year we’ll be celebrating the 70th anniversary of the PCT School, and it should be one of our best yet! Our PCT School committee is hard at work planning the agenda, securing nationally recognized speakers and confirming details for a week of great sessions, networking and more.

I am honored to be serving this association as its president and look forward to the year ahead.

This is a great time for the pest management industry, and we’ll make it even better together!
